Hearing Of Writ Petition Against Appointment Of Gautam As NA Member Begins In Constitutional Bench

Kathmandu, Sept. 30: Hearing of the writ petition filed against the appointment of Bamdev Gautam, leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), as the National Assembly member has begun in the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court.

In the single-bench hearing of the writ petition, filed by senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, on September 23, the apex court had directed not to delegate Gautam with any constitutional duty by issuing an interim order.

Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR and Justices Dipak Kumar Karki, Hari Krishna Karki, Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada are hearing the case in the constitutional bench.
